This privacy policy explains how information is handled when you visit optronicworks.com, submit an inquiry, send an email or contact the Optronic Works team through WhatsApp. The site is operated for Optronic Works, based in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Privacy questions can be sent to sales@optronicworks.com.
The policy describes the current public website. A customer portal, applicant tracking system or project collaboration platform may have separate terms. If a signed contract contains different data-handling terms, the contract governs the project information described in that agreement.
Please do not send classified, controlled, export-restricted or programme-sensitive information through the public form, ordinary email or WhatsApp. An initial inquiry should contain only the information needed to route the request.
Information you provide
When you use an inquiry form, we may receive your name, company, work email, country or region, platform or application, product interest and the requirement text you choose to provide. If you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we receive the content of that message and the contact details you use.
You decide how much technical information to provide. A useful first inquiry can be limited to the target class, approximate range, platform type, payload mass and interface category. Do not include customer names, programme names, controlled drawings or sensitive operational details unless a secure transfer method and appropriate agreement are already in place.
If you provide information about another person, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to share it. Please keep the information accurate and tell us if a correction is needed.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, the hosting environment may record technical information such as the requested URL, time, browser type, device type, referring page, approximate network location and server response. These logs help diagnose errors, protect the site and understand aggregate traffic. They are not used to identify you personally unless necessary for security or legal compliance.
If analytics, advertising pixels or embedded third-party media are enabled, they may use cookies or similar technologies. The current site should disclose the categories actually in use and provide a consent mechanism where required. Do not assume that every third-party service described in a template is active on this site.

WhatsApp and third-party messaging
The site may offer a WhatsApp link. Clicking it opens WhatsApp or a web version of the service. Messages sent through WhatsApp are processed by the messaging provider under its own terms and privacy policy, not solely by Optronic Works. We receive the content that you choose to send and the associated account information made available by the service.
Use WhatsApp only for routine commercial and technical coordination. Do not send controlled drawings, personal identity documents, classified material or sensitive programme information through the service. If a project requires a controlled exchange, ask for an appropriate secure method first.
The same caution applies to ordinary email. Encryption in transit does not make an unauthorised disclosure harmless, and a message may be copied, forwarded or retained by service providers.
International processing
Optronic Works is based in China and may work with service providers or project contacts in other countries. Information may therefore be processed outside the country in which you submitted it. Data-protection rules differ between jurisdictions. Where required, we will use contractual, organisational or other appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
If you are subject to a specific transfer mechanism or public-sector requirement, identify it in the inquiry so that the commercial and compliance team can review the route before information is exchanged.
Retention
Inquiry information is retained for as long as needed to respond, evaluate a business relationship, meet contractual obligations, resolve a dispute or comply with law. A closed inquiry may be retained for a limited period for record-keeping and follow-up, then deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.
Retention periods can vary by record type. Quotations, contracts, export-control records and financial documents may need a longer period than general website correspondence. Server logs are normally kept for a shorter operational period unless needed for security investigation.
If you ask for deletion, we will consider the request in light of legal obligations, dispute-resolution needs and the protection of our rights.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. These measures may include access control, encrypted transport, service-provider controls, backups and monitoring. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

This is a business-to-business engineering website. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us so that it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when the website, service providers or legal requirements change. The reviewed date at the top of the page will be updated for material changes. Continued use of the site after a change does not override rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
